Ghania Ke Banger

Cattle Feed Plant, Ghania-Ke-Banger was set up by Milkfed Punjab under Operation Flood II Programme. It is situated in District Gurdaspur on the Batala-Fatehfarh Churian Road. This is the 2nd Cattle Feed Plant of Milkfed, after Cattle Feed Plant Khanna with rated capacity 200 MT per day. This plant was commissioned with idea of Sh.Manohar Singh Gill, Ex.Chief Election Commissioner of India, on 18.09.1988.

The main purpose to set up this plant was to meet the Cattle Feed demand of Milk Producers of border area. This plant on the one hand has produced Balanced and nutritive Cattle Feed for the milch animals and on the other hand improved Socio-Economic Status of rural people of border area by providing direct and indirect employment to the people of this area. This plant has provided direct employment to about 150 persons and indirect employment to the  numerous people. This plant plays a vital role in making operation flood programme successful by increasing milk production many fold as well as improve the general health and productivity of milch animals.

In 2013, its capacity was increased from 100 MT per day to 200 MT per day with fully automatic system. This unit is regularly catering to the requirement of Cattle Feed in the Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Faridkot  Districts in the State of Punjab, along with Jammu & Kashmir and some areas of Himachal Pradesh.
